Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Club
The next step for youth archers who are experienced shooters and are serious about taking their archery to the next level, the Golden Arrow Archers JOAD club is a developmental program through USA Archery and open to youth ages 8-20. JOAD members work on mastering archery techniques and have the opportunity to earn JOAD star pins for their specific archery discipline (compound, recurve, barebow, indoor, outdoor, etc) through regular team shoots at their own pace. In addition, kids will be able to participate in the national JOAD Mail-In shoot each season and have the opportunity to travel to local, state, and regional JOAD and USA Archery tournaments if desired.

Those interested should have a solid foundation in archery form and skills as well as own their own quality equipment. To be eligible to join the JOAD team, members must have completed at least two seasons of the Chesterfield Star Shooters After School Archery Club and be able to shoot at the "Expert" level or higher for that club (they do not need to have earned the patch, only be able to qualify for it). Experienced archers who have not participated in the Star Shooters program may be allowed membership on a case by case basis, please contact the coach for more information. JOAD club registration includes any star pins earned and lanyard to hold them. Additional membership in USA Archery (www.usaarchery.org) is highly recommended and required to compete in sanctioned tournaments, but not required to initially join the JOAD club.
