Introduction to Archery
Participants will be taught competition style target archery by ATA
and NASP-certified instructors. All courses will be taught at the new
instructional archery range next to Rockwood Nature Center. For ages
8 and older.

Participants must have completed Chesterfield County Parks and
Recreation’s Introduction to Archery course within the past year in
order to be eligible for this program. Our instructors will present
additional instruction on form, equipment and safety in this
continuing series of classes geared toward the developing archer.

Adult Introduction to Archery NEW
This program is designed for those with little to no archery experience. All equipment is provided. All courses will be taught

Wide World of Archery NEW
Participants must have completed Chesterfi eld County Parks and Recreation’s Introduction to Archery course within the past year
in order to be eligible for this program. Participants will receive
instruction on how to shoot traditional recurve bows, cross bows and
compound bows of different makes and models on the instructional
archery range adjacent to the Rockwood Nature Center. For ages 8

After School Archery Club - FULL
Participants will learn techniques, form and rules for target archery,
as well as get to explore using diff erent types of bows (compund and
recurves) and accessories with diff erent targets. The program will
follow the After School Archery Program national curriculum and will
be taught by a USA Archery and Archery Trade Association certifi ed
instructor. Bow and equipment are provided or you may use your
own with instructor approval. Archers will be provided with a skills
and drills workbook and club patch, and have opportunities to earn
achievement level patches as they make progress. New students
with no archery experience are welcome but must register for the
New Archer Introduction class on Sept. 5. For ages 8-16.

Bow-Tuning Clinic NEW
Join our instructors for a program devoted to the hunting archer
and dial in that bow so you’ll be ready when your opportunity
comes later in the season. Our instructors will check alignment and
level and help you paper-tune your bow to shrink your group sizes.
All courses will be taught at the new instructional archery range
next to Rockwood Nature Center. Space is extremely limited, so
sign up early.
